The keyboard seems like a simple device. But the letters written on your physical keyboard do not always correspond to what appears on your screen when you press them: it is a question of mapping the physical keys to characters using something called keyboard layouts. We will see in this chapter how you can use different keyboard layouts for different languages and we will also look at other ways to enter text than just the keyboard.
