Chapter 11: Software internationalization

If you can translate a document from one language to another, then you can certainly do the same with computer software. But taking a piece of software and making it communicate with the user in another language involves steps which are so different from document translation that we have special terms for them: software localization and software internationalization. In this chapter we will explain what these are and then we will discuss software internationalization. We will turn to software localization in the next chapter.
